"Gas Turbine Repair & Metallurgy"

A one-day short course in conjunction with Turbo Expo 2008

The course is for Operations & Maintenance personnel who require an understanding of basic gas turbine metallurgy and repair technology to conduct business with repair shops and make repair vs. replacement parts decisions. The course presents the techniques used to assess component condition and provides an understanding of the conventional and advanced repair technologies used to extend component life. Case studies of actual repaired components will be presented and students will work in teams to determine the best course of action to repair sample components. Participants may submit questions in advance regarding repair issues faced in their jobs. Student understanding of the material is assessed through question and answer periods (including preformatted questions throughout), and assignments at the end of the course.


Course Objectives
The course is for Operations & Maintenance personnel who require an understanding of basic gas turbine metallurgy and repair technology to conduct business with repair shops and make repair verses replacement parts decisions. These personnel could include: Plant Operators, Operating Engineers, Field Service Personnel, Mariners, Plant Managers, Design Engineers, government agencies, Energy and Naval consultants, Institutions, EPC Contractors and Universities who are involved with petrochemical, industrial power, power generation and the oil and gas industries.
